Acrylic on canvas by Frank Junko entitled "Pierres dans le Matin". Frank Junko born Tsuchihachi is a Japanese surrealist-inspired painter close to nature, born in 1930 in Wakayama, Japan. Graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Japan (Tokyo Geijutsu Daigaku), she is the wife of the French Japanologist Bernard Frank. Member of the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1961, she received the silver medal at the International Exhibition of Women Painters in Paris in 1964 and the gold medal at the International Exhibition of Women Painters in Athens in 1967. From the 80s and until the beginning of the year 2000, Frank Junko painted these famous stones in the shape of pebbles suspended between sky and sea escaping terrestrial gravity and seeming to merge into the infinity of the cosmos.
